Investigation on the utilization of coal gasification slag in Portland cement: Reaction kinetics and microstructure

Gasification slag is a solid waste generated by the coal chemical industry which has emerged in recent years. In this paper, effect of gasification (CGS) powder content on reaction kinetics, gel structure and compressive strength Portland cement was investigated for potential application CGS powders cementitious materials. The blended with analyzed using X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy scanning electron microscopy tests. results show that unreacted power exists mainly an agglomerated state matrix, low dosage (10%) can play role nucleation pozzolanic cement, conducive to formation hydration reactions shortening setting time improving strength. If >30%, product decreases, microstructure sample becomes loosened. times are significantly prolonged increase dosing considerably reduced as well.
